Our Mission

About shreeanna.life

India's most complete, honest, and accessible knowledge home for Shree Anna — the ancient grains that fed this civilisation for 4,000 years.

Why we built this

We noticed something striking: there was no single, comprehensive source of millet knowledge for Indian consumers.

There were government PDFs. There were agricultural research papers behind paywalls. There were recipe blogs with three paragraphs. There were news articles about the International Year of Millets. But there was no home for millets — no place where a curious person anywhere in India could go and learn everything: the history, the nutrition, the farming, the processing and manufacturing, the trade and export economics, the cooking, the health science, the research, the government schemes, the organisations working on the ground, and where to buy.

shreeanna.life is that home — an independent, editorially-run knowledge resource, informed by IIMR and NIN Hyderabad's research and the other sources below, maintained as a public reference — free, open, and as complete as we can make it.

Our principles

  • Honest: We distinguish between what is proven, what is suggested, and what is unproven. We do not overclaim health benefits.
  • Complete: Every millet gets a full page. Every health claim gets a citation. Every government scheme gets a plain-language explanation.
  • Practical: Information you can actually use — cooking ratios, where to buy, what to cook tonight.
  • Indian: Written for Indian consumers, in the context of Indian cooking traditions, regional foods, and Indian health patterns.
